Bonus update for the week. It's been a little while since I drew Cricket's Grandma and even longer since I drew Saint Loraine Police so I had to go back through the old comics for reference. When I started this comic I figured that the police would have a larger role but now they're part seems pretty small. Funny how that worked out. ——————– replies: @usedbooks: Indeed you do see Fenny, that was about the only one that came out looking close. Thankfully she has that huge bow so she's pretty easy. Having a comic that's in a steampunk setting makes cameos sort of tough because I have to sort of alter character designs to make them look not so out of place, which is where I went wrong. It's all really unfortunate actually. Cricket's on a slippery slope for sure. First she's stealing, then knocking away Puzzle Boxes and it can only escalate from here. Before she knows it she'll be plotting political assassinations. @ulthor: Well, they've escaped for now. Emphasis on "for now." @Peipei: I thought this page worked pretty well as a resolution to the chase and I did have fun putting Vladimir's Puzzle Box in there as well. @magickmaker: Actually I did too. The girl in the top hat and black dress in panel 5 is supposed to be Death from the Sandman series, (she wore a similar outfit in one of the "Death" series graphic novels.) @amanda: Actually that *was* supposed to be Lia, the only reason why she's not is because I don't think she looks enough like her. Most of the other "cameos" didn't come out right so if you don't recognize any that's why. But I made attempts at Nadya, Brio, Death and Bones. @Zephyrion: Obliviousness: it's part of my identity! @Trevor: Not really. Though I did talk to someone on the phone that I hadn't seen in a few years and was completely stupid while doing it. Later it was explained to her that I'd been drinking. So I had an embarrassing New Years, which is a *kind* of fun… I guess. @Warped: Thanks! @Steely Gaze: The great thing about the Vladimir's Puzzle Box is that I can reintroduce it whenever an inane situation is called for. And I can reuse pretty much the same dialogue, "You turn the sides to match the colors."
