Something Weird

Between having a full-time job I've been trying to draw comics and get my various side projects done, but lately all I want to do is read a damn book! Ironically, when my apartment building caught fire on Tuesday that's exactly how I spent most of the evening. Incidentally, the fire's my excuse for being late with this comic (again.)
Looks like Cricket and Creature managed to escape, but for how long? I've been wanting to show Ollie's bike in full for a while, if for no other reason than I think cargo bikes are cool.
Also, anyone who wants to submit a guest comic I'll be putting this project on hold after about three more pages, which coincidentally will also be my 100 pages milestone, (not counting filler,) That said I'll need to get any guest strips in about three weeks.

@usedbooks: The idea that I had involved a cat so, I thought I might as well make it Jiro because I figured that you'd probably appreciate it.
@ulthor: Yeah, I've been told that I'm needlessly mean to my protagonists. Maybe at heart I'm just a complete bastard!
@Peipei: Actually, I outright forgot what sound Jiro makes and only referenced Used Books pages to make sure that I drew the character right. I just decided I liked "Mrow" better. Lucky that turned out to be right!
And yes, they are both in dire straits.
@Ludeshka: Thanks!
@magickmaker: This is true, though I'm pretty sure she didn't expect the cops to turn up here.
@JNP: When I came back to finish the inks on that page I actually read that line the same way. That does bring up a possibly funny scenario: What if the events of the story are the elaborate imaginings of Cricket's drug-addled mind? I don't think using Jiro as a kitty shield would work so great– and possibly a bit too mean for Cricket to consider. And she's a dog person.
@amanda: Why can't my interactions with cops ever go like that? I remember I once was asked to not sit down in a public park. I could understand if I was smoking or brown-bagging but I was just reading comics. To this day I'm baffled as to what law I was actually breaking.
@Zephyrion: Thanks!
@chris_wastewater: Yeah, total downer ending right? Hahaha!
@Trevor: What is it with booze and comics? I think it's just one of those combinations that was simply meant to be!
@Warped: Well, stop slacking and draw something!
@Steely_Gaze: Unfortunately Dart's the sort of guy that would gauge risks before doing something like that and rescuing Creature and Cricket entails a lot of risk on his part. I'm glad the build up works well, I hope you like where this goes.
