Stop! Or We'll Shoot!

This is the first mostly on-time update in a while. Like most of you guys I saw Watchmen last week and what can I say? I liked it better than I thought I would but I can't help but nitpick a little. It didn't have the complex character development, slow-building atmosphere, and stories within stories that the comic had. I liked the way Nite Owl, Rorschach and Laurie were portrayed but Ozymandias fell flat with me. Also I thought the soundtrack had a few questionable choices. But all that's hardly opinions that have never been said before, so was did I like it? Yes, but as snobby as it sounds I'd recommend the graphic novel over the movie any day.

@usedbooks: I actually considered showing her and Creature escape, she probably pushed past and the cops didn't shoot because there was too much of a risk hitting each other. I ended up deciding that it didn't seem as relevant how she got out of so much as that she did. I'm not sure if it was a good choice for clarity's sake but I was thinking more about pacing. It's times like this that I get reminded that drawing comics is hard!
@Zephyrion: Thanks!
@ulthor: I'll bet! Don't tell anyone else, it's meant to be a surprise!
@Peipei: Cricket's best defenses are the facts that she can run fast and climb good. She's also pretty good at hiding too, lucky thing too– no way is she a match for these guys.
@magickmaker: Yeah, no kidding, for real!
@JNP: I didn't lose anything in the fire actually. Of value or otherwise. Cricket does look a little drugged there now that you point it out.
@amanda: If you can't hide behind a soap crate you're not safe nowhere! Yeah, I'd really like to have the time to read more books but I've been so overwhelmed lately.
@Trevor: True enough, true enough. Just remember: don't drink and ink.
@Warped: Thanks!
@chris_wastewater: Haha! A cargo bike probably isn't the best thing to learn on, I haven't ridden one of those myself but I'm told that they can be kind of tricky if you don't know what you're doing.

    If you can't stop that guy with a wrench, I don't know what to do?

    Sure, I won't tell, I don't like spoiling things for other people anyway.

    But inking while intoxicated usually creates hilarious artwork.

    Watchmen Graphic Novel= Groundbreaking
    Watchmen Movie= Just Another Movie
    Good time tho.

    Patrick, you hypocrite! Complaining about them taking scenes from Watchmen and you did the same huh? ;-D

    I really liked it. I decided not to read the comics till after I saw the movie. For the time they had I thought they fit a LOT of it in and very well.

    It still had more character development than most super hero movies IMO.

    @page: Have you ever played Street Fighter 3? Cause that big guy really reminds me of Q from that game!

    Duck and run out from between his legs Cricket!!!

    Watchmen was pretty good. It was kind of upbeat about murder.

    Ruh oh Raggy!

    I hope Ollie wasn't using his cargo bike to peddle ice cream and popsicles. Imagine the surprise! "Momma, momma, I want the bluuuuuuuue one."

    Crud! And that's an understatement x.x. I fear the worst may happen now.

    Watchmen was okay I guess xD I wasn't ever really a fan of the book or anything like that. We just thought we'd go see a movie :p.

    Yeah, I know how summarizing and cutting scenes is, especially for the sake of pacing. I just finished drawing a huge fight scene that took way more pages than I wanted it to despite cutting it down to only the most essential points. -_-

    Yikes! Poor Cricket! I think that guy could snap her in half if he wanted to. All the same, I don't think he will. He wants Creature…

    I probably won't see Watchmen. We don't have any disposable money at this point (not just ticket price but gas expense… silly rural Virginia and its lack of movie theaters).
