Chapter 1, Page 3

As usual, beautiful job by Essaybee, on the chapter/splash page. And as you can see by Mindmistress' —dying? comment, there are going to be as many personality conflicts here as there were in CROSSOVERLORD. (I suspect her voice was so weak that Captain Perfect didn't hear her—and I'm not sure it would make a difference if it did.)

I'm taking a chance here. I wanted, as we did on CROSSOVERLORD, to have a guarenteed update every Tuesday, and anything else we upload is extra. Neil of DASIEN volunteered to do the next few pages after this, and although we've seen the second of those pages completed (marvellous job!) and the preliminaries on the first, I don't know for sure if he'll be finished by Tuesday.

I really should hold off until I'm sure. But this page obviously fits in so well with the previous one, and I wanted to give people enough time to appreciate this, so I'm taking a chance. But this MAY have to count as the Tuesday one also. Hopefully, we'll have another page up on Tuesday. If Neil DOES finish the first page in time—we'll probably upload his second page on Thursday.

See? We can keep you in suspense even when it comes to when we're updating!

i don't think he was even given a name, but during one of the super crisis that had heroes from all over (and i think maybe throughout time), there was a scene from the perspective of this nameless hero as he watched superman swoop down and take a bullet from a gunman while subduing him, and commenting on how much of a beating he would have to take in order to take a bullet like that. frankly i had the same thought (that his power would be self defeating) and would have loved to see more of him, but the comic moved on to the typical 'epic' showdowns of real villains and heroes, and as a result have forgotten pretty much all of the rest of the comic.

she can't be hurt that bad if she's insulting people

I don't know any DC characters that get stronger from pain. There IS a Marvel character though, "Penance" who get's more powerful energy-blasts based on the pain he's in, but that doesn't actually make him any more resilient from damage. That would kind of defeat the purpose, wouldn't it?

x-pletive gains his powers from swearing, kinda reminds me of some minor hero in d.c. that gets his power from pain, if he gets beat up enough he can survive getting shot. i wonder sort of list x-pletive uses, i mean can he swear in another language? or use made up swear words (as long as he thinks of them as swear words)? and what not.

if neil has 2 of 3 pages done, doesn't that mean that he has 2 weeks to finish that one page?

but being perfect is everything he knows about

I don't know… if you're going to be an idiot, why not be a perfect one?

    Cool page!

You know, I just thought of something. Captain Perfect reminds me of a Fusion character: X-Ponent. Both are annoying heroes with no real powers (though Captain Perfect seems like he might actually be a bit more useful in a fight–he doesn't pretend to have a super power).

I'd like to see if the two meet, though. Maybe in part because it might give a chance to see more X-Pletive.

Ah. Good to see that Captain Perfect will likely annoy Mindmistress as much as he does Superdan.

Oh, and Essaybee did an updated version of the preceding page's art, because he left out the slashes on MM's face, so you might click "prev" to check it out!
