Sorry about that two-week break.
While Energize is powering the transdimensional portals, Mindmistress reads the story of the President, the leader of the Doppelganger Gang.  He lived on a world where the Cold War didn't end with the collapse of the Soviet Union, but continued on.  In this world, Hinckley's aim was better, killing Reagan–and Bin Ladin, fighting against the Soviets at the time, led suicide bombers (including himself) to kill the leader of the hated Soviets.
Peace by strength.  Judging by how President C.C. (Cyrus Caesar) Frost looks NOW, we can see how "successful" such a policy was.
