For those who don't read into the conversation properly, Alec's not gay. He's just forbidden from having a girlfriend during his time as a Roayl Elite Guard. (Children, "gay" used to mean "happy")

At about this particular time in my life I got sick of unstructured faces and my own style. Determined to steadily inch away from manga, I started to experiment. Luckily, this wasn't where I stopped. If I could draw faces like Cheeko I'd be a happy artist.

I don't hate manga. I just feel the need to stand out and be more original. Also, drawing manga most likely won't land you a job.
