Sally and Alec's intrusion could be considered a foil to Tadashi's attack, but the truth is, the Finisher is quite a bit more competent than most of Tadashi's opponents. He knew where Tadashi was and had a gun ready for him. Sally stopped Tadashi from doing what was essentially a suicide charge.

Our protagonists had a rough fight ahead even then, but now with a new challenger everything's gone out the window.
