Hey everyone Sarah has had some trouble with her site Vermillion Works which I felt was worth repeating here. Here is what she said on DA:

"Okay, this is the deal on vermillionworks.com…
I have two different hosts, one that hosts all the stuff - ICDSoft (which ISN'T down) and one for only my domain name - Cyberpixels. Yeah, a stupid idea…but we just never got around to switching over to using ICDSoft for both…..it's a dumb story.

And it seems, it may be impossible to get back vermillionworks.com. Why? Because Cyberpixels apparently is either full of unprofessional morons or there is literally no one working with it. They never reply to help emails, and if they do it takes months. They. F***ing. Suck.

Some of you may even recall something like this happening before involving Cyberpixels taking down my site. It seems to happen every year.

And apparently ICDSoft says I can't get my vermillionworks.com domain name via THERE site instead without renewing with Cyberpixels first and some other mumbo-jumbo. But Cyberpixels won't freakin' reply!

So I'm thinking, it'd probably be best to either do something like change it to vermillion-works.com (with the dash in it), or vermilionworks.com (one L in vermillion, which is a more common spelling for that word anyway) or vermillionworks.NET….or change the name entirely.

The name Vermillion Works is a VERY old name I came up with that was meant to sound studio-ish. However I have no studio to speak of…so it's more of an art collective name than anything nowadays.


I'm thinking, since I probably have to go through and change all the links to something a little different anyway…I may as well change my domain name entirely.

This isn't official yet, if by some grace of God Cyberpixels replies, or ICDSoft finds a way, we can pretend like this never happened and move on. I won't wait more than a couple of days to find out.

If not, I may just change the name entirely since the name Vermillion Works is rather….odd. Not horrible, but odd.

I'm just bad at deciding on titles. Any suggestions?

(sarahn.com is taken, but I don't really like it anyway)

I tried a few other things like sn-art.com and even snuh.com (), but those are all taken.

I'd rather not name it VAMPIREPHANTASM.COM, because I don't just host VP there…but Cwen's Quest and other stuff too.

Name ideas? Just stick with vermillionworks slightly altered? Should I put up a poll? What'cha all say?"
