I just picked up some of the more recent volumes of (A)Oh my Goddess starting with Volume 22. I must say I have mixed feelings. The new story arcs have been hit or miss with me. About half of them I loved but the other half I was really board with. Volumes 1-21 were great, no complaints really except for that one stupid robot of Skuld's, but I fear the series maybe finally running out of steam. The series is quickly filling up with secondary characters most of whom are not as intersting as the originals. This rather disapoints me. Ah or Oh my Goddess was one of my favorite series. I loved its ability to cross small everday stories with magic or big epic storylines on occasion. Typically even the magic jargon was great which is usually a low point in a series. Still their were some good things two in the new volumes so I don't want to write the series off yet, but I fear Goddess's best days might be behind her. I almost wish they would put Kenichi and Beldandy on a bus and spin off the series to allow them to focus on some of the other characters more and put them in some new situations. Sadly the manga is even stalling out something which might shake up the status quo like Kenichi graduating. It might be very interesting if they jumped ahead a few years and had Skuld move out on her own or if the series switch focus to center more around another goddess like Peorth.

I haven't gotten to volumn 30 yet so I'm hoping the series can rebound but I fear I might be looking for a new manga series the next time I stop into the book store now.
