Chapter 4 Page 4 - It gets messy

Ooops I posted up the wrong vote page on christmas. Sorry about that.

A friend let me try his copy of the new Castlevania game recently, I must say while perhaps not the perfect game, it is my perfect game. This installment is inspired more by Simon's Quest then the more traditional castlevanias and think it is stronger for it. I like the way the new character and system plays. But the thing I like most about this game is so far the challenge factor has been PERFECT. The game kicks my ass…a lot, but not to the point of frustration. I punishes me for being lazy and carless, depending to much on a single power and weapon. The abilities in this game are not one trick ponies, you'll be switching them a lot to match the right ability to the right situation and thankfully the offer a fast switch option to make this smooth and make it mostly seemless. Bosses will generally kill you the firs two or three time but as you feel them out you'll come up with a strategy to kill them. It has always bothered me in earlier installments that when you start the game everything is insanely difficult but about 1/3rd of the way through the game you get a few key abilities which make the game all to easy and death become a rarity usually only happening with boss battles.

Now like evergame there are few things that could be improved, the familiars for example in this installment a pathetic and make me long for the farie from SotN but all my complains are of a similar trivial nature when compaired to the over all solid offering that is this game. Konami, please keep developing in this direction.
