Thanks for the responses everyone on the last update. The info is much appreciated.

I really don't understand why there are not more collaborative sites like Drow Tales. It seems the most natural thing in the world for creators to come together and work in a shared universe, one with many benefits not the least of which is a high volume of updates. Yet it seems as though everyone just wants to do their own thing.

Don't get me wrong as a control freak myself I understand the appeal of singular creative control and the benifits that go with it. However the almost total lack of collective works (community comics where everyone does one page do not count) on the web it begs the question: why is that? With the internet it should be easy for people of like minds to come together and collaborate. Oh sure their are lots of collective and group who come together to help promote each other but that isn't same as contributing together.

In the ooooooooooold days Fanzines were where a lot of aspiring writers and artist got their start. Maybe that is the problem, everyone is hellbent on being the next JK Rowlings and is to busy pushing their idea to work on anything shared. Or maybe it is just that with modern technology like photoshop it isn't so hard for one person to bring their vision to life on a reliable update schedule. Whatever the reason though I think it is a void that is just waiting to be filled online. I could be mistaken but as more and more pro-comics try to push their material online I think it is probably at least a few more collective groups will spring up as it becomes harder and harder to stand out from the ever growing crowd of pro and semi-pro comics dominating the internet's surprisingly limited attention.
