Omi can read lips but he doesn't have it down to an exact science in case you can't tell.

Unlike Cwen, Sven doesn't have much charisma so he and Symus added Omi to the group. Omi isn't much of a fighter but he does a lot of talking on Sven's behalf. However since a lot of time Sven and Symus forget why Omi should do all the talking for the group Omi's also picked up a few skills over the years like reading lips as we see here.
