I know it hasn't been covered very well yet in the comic but Cwen has actually be away from her homeland for a long time and only recently came back so a lot of things are news to her. If she was a little more subtle she would have probably lurked about a bit first and got a lay of the land but Cwen wasn't really interested in that. Wendy probably knows some of this as I'm sure she asked around while Cwen and Essex were busy planing out the batter with Team Vorg but she knows Cwen wouldn't really want to hear it so I imagine she just kept it to herself.
