Who are the Protomen you say? Only the writers and performers of two Megaman ROCK OPERAS. Pretty good ones too in my opinion. If that sound awesome why not check them out. Part 1 The Protomen - Covers Megaman's typical heroic journey while Part II - The Father of Death is a prequel that details the back story of Dr. Light and the events that lead him to craft his heroic robots. I don't want to say more then that but sufficed to say this a very unique take on Megaman which takes some indulgences to expand a very basic story and turn it into a musical epic, but I hope you'll agree it works rather well. I personally hope to catch a live performance one day at one of their convention appearances.
