All these years later, I feel like being in an environment where I felt objectified was ultimately beneficial to my development as a human being. I'm able to empathize with others who have experienced similar situations (and worse!) because I've been there before. Of course I have the luxury of saying that because my all-around experiences on this subject were far from worse case scenario.
