There is no such thing as a true 'beginning' unless you want to start at the Big Bang and work from there. So with this in mind we will drop in at A Point in our protagonists's lives. Blackjack's in particular.
He's a troubled soul (though if he catches you saying that and is in the wrong mood you'll find yourself looking at your insides just before you die) and a typical sign of a troubled soul are troubled dreams… And so we 'begin'.
