For some reason, I thought a sextant was called a cromliegraph; possibly it's something my father told me (I remember when I was a little kid, the teacher asked if anyone knew any poetry, and I stood up and said, 'I wondered lonely as a could, over hill and dale, when all at once I came upon a crowd, a host of golden axolotls.' I spent quite a lot of the time in the teachers office as a kid.) I'm glad I checked, though, because 'sextant' is a great word by itself.
