Darkling Visions of a Madmans Soul
"Happy" Easter

Author notes

"Happy" Easter

Hurricane Ivan
on

Another poem, this one penned on Easter.

'Tis once again that time of year,
That children love and doctors fear.
When chocolate eggs pervade the sight,
To fill us all with sweet delight,
And Hares, the Bilby's put to flight,
As tradition and correctness fight.

The Charnel Lord of Christendom,
Would wonder what this has become,
With Christian render, Pagan stones,
Christian skin and Pagan bones,
Prayers drowned out by eating moans,
And quite commercial overtones.

But through this joy stalks hidden foe,
A Demon from the fires below,
And as we eat, so shall he eat us,
From wizened crone to unborn foetus,
who will, therefore, one day defeat us
But that Demon Lord named Diabeetus?
