Dawn of a New Era's future

Yes, things are going to be different. There will be more told about the world before Stefan and William start their journey in the old Dawn of a New Era. It may be a while before the story catches up, but we'll still see these characters. By the way, these past 25 comics weren't a waste, they will simply be integrated into the new series, so that what is now Comic #1 might be #60 or something.

I really hope to get interest back in this thing, it would be a shame to not get to see the whole story.
