This is a prelude to DB: Issue 3.

But I'd like to 'shoot' briefly, if possible. 'Shoot', those who don't know, being a wrestling term that should mean a 100% genuine comment not based in politics or promotion. So I'll 'shoot' by saying that seeing this visualised is oddly emotional and thrilling. I came up with the character of Jackson Cruise years ago in what feels like another life, and wrote a 'virtual series' about him. (Virtual series being television style scripts done in a serial format.) I'll dispense with the specifics, but it never worked out.

So to see his origin (dialogue changed, the beats stay the same) drawn like this… it's a lot to take in. Far better in visualisation than in concept. And the culmination of a near obsession into an actuality that constantly features career highlights.

Thanks, Mr. Butcher. You make my meagre scripting look like fried gold.

Is this a tad sappy? Probably. But fuck it. I'd rather be seen as an emotional wimp than shy away from saying a genuine thanks to Dan for aiding me on this journey. We don't update as much as other webcomics, but I know for a fact that we both put a lot of time and effort into this crazy webcomic; Dan often at the expense of Vanguard (which is fantastic, and available via this site.)

So let's all make 2011 the year of Death Boy.
