looks like i'm making up for lost time XD have another page.

ok i'v forgotten what i wanted to say. well there has been a question about how i learned to draw, or who thought me. well:

i always find that question hard. i started out … from age eight (well earlier but i remember age 8 very well) just making a mess =) i still have those pictures too. and then i went on to drawing fave scenes from fav fairy tale books. books and pictures have always been a part of my life. from as far back as i can recall, bible for kids was the first ^__^
and then i moved on to cartoons. i drew Garfield XD and Calvin and Hobbs. and anything else i liked the look of.

then we moved and i started going regular to the public library, and so began my love affair with books. (best memories of school: english teacher is talking and i'm reading Talking to Dragons by Patricia C. Wrede and falling in love with the cover art by Trina Schart Hyman) so i drew and then in high school took an art class… i can say if i learned anything from there. it was just unthinkable not to take a class where you can sit and DRAW!

i found out about manga. oh yes, the word that people seam to use as in insult. i dont know why. i started drawing and the more confident i got in anatomy, the more i looked at style. i became Dr. Frankenstein. take diff art style and then "cut them up". the way of drawing an eye here, and the shape of the face there, love the nose on that one, and oh the lips from this one. line quality, and so on.

then i went to our local community college. stared out as business but ended as an art major. learned…a lot from some teachers, not much from most. you see, they teach you the basics from the beginning, but i had already done that on my own. best class was color theory and design. thank you Professor Zamora! but most of college was about "classical art education" more or less, so i ignored a lot of it =)

and thats my art learning experience, although i always feel that does not say much. i'm not 100% happy with my style. i paint too much, so if i'm not careful too much realism slips in and spoils it all. so i'm still learning. i'll finish this comic like this, and i hope by the ending, i'll have learned a lot to make the next one better, different and closer to how i want "my style" to be.
