Digimon Academy

Episode 1 Page 2
P13volution onI'm sorry it took so long. I only had the actual physical drawing done when I said I would upload this one soon, but I failed to realize how much Photoshop drawing this page would require.
After months, this comic finally has characters. We are introduced to Kite Kusoka, a young man enrolled at Digimon Academy who any readers who have played Digimon World Dawn and Dusk (Digimon Story Sunburst and Moonlight in Japan) may recognize. Yes, he is based on "Koh" (The rival in Digimon World Dusk, who is the same as the male playable character in Digimon World Dawn except in the fact that he speaks and the player cannot choose his name) except that this resemblance is in appearance only and "Kite" is a separate character. He is pretty much your usual goggle-boy, except for his habit of daydreaming and outbursts as a result of said daydreaming. These outbursts get him in trouble with teachers (Or "Instructors" as they are referred to in this comic) at Digimon Academy, like Instructor Sunflowmon also shown here. Kite's design is more-or-less finalized as of this page, but he may change slightly as I come to terms with how to best draw him (Go easy on me, I'm still pretty new at this whole web-comic thing).
You may notice that Instructor Sunflowmon is referred to as "Ma'am" here which would normally imply that "she" is a woman. However, I do go by the Season 3/Tamers rule that no Digimon have genders. However, I also believe that they should have preferences as to what they would like to be called and which pronouns should be used to refer to them. The Sunflowmon here just happens to consider "herself" female and thus prefers to be called "ma'am" by her students, hopefully that's not too confusing for anyone.
You may be wondering who those silhouettes are of in the third panel. Who are they? Do they have anything to do with this story? Are they important to the Digimon Franchise? Is their cameo more or less pointless? All these questions will be answered… Right now!
Who are they? You'll have to figure that out on your own. Internet-cookies will be awarded to whoever can guess. Said internet-cookies may or may not be delicious depending on how good your imagination is and may or may not increase the size of your internet-"thingy" (I don't know if I can say that word in this kind of comic… Hmmm…) if that sort of thing is important to you. Your only hint is that there are five of them (And some, but not all of them are Digimon), but you will have to figure out on your own where one ends and another begins.
Do they have anything to do with this story? No.
Are they important to the Digimon Franchise? Yes, but you will only discover this importance when you figure out who they are.
Is their cameo more or less pointless? Yes, my original sketches of this page had only some scary silhouettes here, but I had a silly idea as I was drawing this page out and ran with it.
Have fun, all!
From an artistic standpoint I am mostly satisfied with the way this page came out, that is except for the last two panels (where I guess I got lazy when drawing, but that's not all that I dislike about them). I really wish I had drawn some better backgrounds, especially in the last panel where there pretty much isn't one, but I think its too late to go back and change it (unless I suddenly get the urge someday for some heavy archive-editing like I've seen some web-comic makers do in the past). The speech-bubbles are terrible and I think from now on, I'll draw them by hand to avoid my ineptitude with Photoshop entirely.
When is the next comic coming? Well I don't know, but it might come sooner if you leave me some comments :P
