Pithy, Pointless Pathos

Today's Digital Nonsense comes from the wonderful world of Super Mario(characters, scenario, etc. belong to Nintendo, of course)! How many people know the backstory to the first Super Mario Bros. game? Or at least the backstory as it shows up in the manual. Turns out Bowser was well versed in black magic and turned all the residents of the kingdom into trees and bushes and fences. That's why it's so depopulated, you see. And Little Goombas were actually mutated mushroom people who betrayed the kingdom. As Mario mentions, though, the SMB series doesn't really need drama or pathos, hence my comic.
