Aurora Borealis onHoroay, I am 28 :/
Smooth shading, almost exclusively. Who'd have thought it would be so time consuming to get it done, heh. Thought I'd go nuts halfway through and left off the coloring only to finish it on the next day.
While overall my art has progressed a lot, there's still lots to work on.
I am seriously pondering returning to inking, but I'm not sure if it'll be necessary. I just noticed by accident that to color the lineart, I don't need to have it on a separate layer (with no white areas), but I just have to set the brush to "lighten".
Wait, what? So simple? Haha, and I was battling with the options all the time, damn. What do I mean by battling? Well, scan the page in color (it's faster to scan stuff that way and then just desaturate it than rescan color art cause I forgot to switch it back from greyscale mode), mess around with contrast and brightness to get rid of leftover pencils, convert it to greyscale, then to bitmap (50% threshold), then back to greyscale, then dump it into my template and finally resize (gives me smooth lines with no white edges if I do it in this order)… not to mention that I have to spend couple of hours inking it.
So, I don't know whether I'll return to inks or not.
