For those of you who are not familiar with either the book or the blog "Stuff White People Like", do not hesitate to check one or the other out.

Sorry for the delay on this post. In my defense I will tell you that I got a chance to do some "Dirtheads" strips for the Kansas City Star's Thursday entertainment section, or at least maybe I did. I've spent most of my comics drawing time over the past few weeks trying to put together samples for them (and wrap up a couple of pages I'm contributing to an anthology). However, I'm apparently not ready for prime time, and I might have set off the "Grumpy Old Man" alarms of the higher-ups at the K.C. Star. The entertainment editor is on my side, though, and he tells me my fate on Monday. One way or another I'll share what I've been working on recently with you, but not until I know when and how I'm allowed to.

(Either way this is the first job offer I've received as Tara Avery and not Tom Avery. There's room for a little optimism either way.)

One last thing, after reading this strip you may wonder why all the gay men seem to have the same haircut. I have often wondered that myself.
