The Scandalous Truth

You know what scares me? When I fail to update for my trademark huge periods of time, I always assume that no one dares to come back and read the comic. But recently I found out that that is not only false, but that people are spreading the word. They're telling their friends, they're using google, and, in some cases, using my ideas in class. One fan told me he uses my ideas in political science class, and recently I got an email from an English proffessor that said one of his students wrote a paper on my comic, and how the humorous political undertones can help ease up the burden of point blanc politics. I guess he saw that my comic was about White House politicians wearing tights and fighting coloful ninjas that throw spoons and he thought "Hey, this stuff's pretty deep!"

Do you know why I don't update for huge periods of time?

Because I've lost faith in the Internet.

I want to get published, dammit. And I know I've come such a long way from the beginning that I can actually do it. The art's pretty bad, but the writing is like nothing else I've ever seen. But my website wasn't ever pulling anybody in, so I decided that I'd get a portfolio printed on Lulu.com and send it to everywhere that prints on paper, even if it was a Kinko's.

But I guess things are a changin'. I don't know how, but people are finding the site. Some type it in from google, some from forums, but the majority of them come from bookmarks.
Which means that people are not just coming to the site, they're coming back.
So, I'm thinking maybe I DO have a chance at being a successful webcartoonist. ON THE WEB. I'll still need your support though, and all you'd really need to do is keep doing what you're doing. Thank you all, I really wish everyone well.

Which brings me to my next point. PLEASE NOMINATE ME FOR THE WEB CARTOONIST'S CHOICE AWARDS!. If you are a cartoonist, that is. I'm sure I still don't have a chance, but it never hurts to try.

Interesting trivia: Every single one of the women in a row in the third panel are real people. They were all once my co workers when I worked at Game Crazy. The Girls of Game Crazy, they call themselves.

Well that's all for now, Misty (who is sitting on the far right) and I have to find an apartment. Keep spreading the word! And thank you for doing so.
