In 2006, after a series of surgical procedures on his eyes, I decided it was time to bring Dog back. The first new strip was added on 30 July 2006. I needed to return to cartooning, but did not yet feel comfortable doing any real character drawing.
The first new strips are newly written ones, rather than the ones I wrote but never illustrated back in 1989.
I hope to one day bring back Dudley the Echidna, Arthur the Platypus, and the other residents of Back Woods, but I am happy with the work I'm doing with Dog the Spot.
