Dog the Spot: Puzzling

I always thought that those Spot the Difference puzzles were somewhat deceptive. I'd sya that the main difference was that one was on the left of the other one, but they answer page would say that a bird had its wings in a different position, or something eqaually trivial. What about important differences, like the image leaking through the other side of the page?
