One day, maybe Roland Emmerich will make a movie consisting entirely of high-budget special effects of the world getting torn asunder and human civilization being annihilated… and nothing else. No plot beyond that, no characters, no dialogue, no emotion… just big, fancy explosions and tsunamis and earthquakes and various climatic disturbances for two straight hours. It will be his magnum opus.
