Chl'rr does have a point here… the Greek Gods are more the vengeful type. I suppose most deities over the ages are. Y'know, makes it easier for the teachers and priests and parents to teach their kids to behave if they worry about the Wraith of God descending upon them like so many beatings.

Lovecraft, though, was going for the exact opposite. His Elder Gods had little to no clue humanity was even there, and it made little difference. The only lesson he was out to teach any of us was that none of us matter.

Of course, Callista, having been a human as recently as whatever span of comic time ago, does not think humanity is cosmically insignificant, so… yeah.
