I've picked up a habit lately, whenever someone asks a question, rhetorical or otherwise, I always provide an answer that, while technically correct, is not useful in any way.
For example:
"What would you like for supper?"
"Food."

"Where's the remote?"
"In this house, probably."

"What's on TV?"
"Moving images with sound."

TV Tropes (I do cite them a lot, don't I?) calls it the Mathematician's Answer or something like that. Funny, because math was always my worst subject. Try it yourself someday, and see just how much you can irritate your friends, coworkers, superiors, and loved ones!
