EDIT: The text below was written a couple of days ahead of time, and thankfully the minister in question seems to have backed down. That said, I rather liked this little rant, so here it is anyway. Uhh, enjoy?

Man, I hope that Florida minister guy I heard about on the news doesn't stick to his whole "burning the Koran for 9/11" foolishness. I'm not saying we should live in fear of causing another muslim attack, I'm saying they hate us first worlders exactly because of this kind of self-righteousness. It's childish, really, as if you're saying "Hey, you hurt us, we hurt you." Even if it's not quite on the same level as murdering a lot of people and wrecking some big buildings, it doesn't make it justified.

Besides which, the terrorist acts of 9/11 were not committed by and because of all muslims everywhere. It was one group of bad eggs with entirely too much power. To burn a religious text sacred to many because of the actions of a relative few is to imply exactly how (little) you think of that many. It is counter to good will and understanding and will only make us, and you, oh silly evangelical minister from Florida, look very, VERY bad.

Maybe there's something I'm missing something here, because I'm an atheist-leaning agnostic, and not well-studied in either religion, but I'm pretty sure Christianity, at least, has a bunch of rules about being nice to your neighbors and turning the other cheek and stuff. Funny how little that comes up.

But what do I know? I'm just some dorky Canadian who makes webcomics…
