For those of you that aren't gamers, I'll explain a little bit. Jeff Gerstmann was an editor at Gamespot. He wrote a review for a game called Kane and Lynch, and gave it a shit score. Since the company that made the game, Eidos, was pumping a fuckton of money into Gamespot in advertising, apparently they pressured to have him fired. He was, and there's an assload of different stories you can hear about it. Gamespot says they've been warning him about the tone of his reviews, the general flow of the internet says that Eidos pressured them into getting rid of their most senior editor.
Me? I didn't like his reviews. I thought he was horribly biased, and essentially, an internet troll in a position of some kind of mundane authority. However, I do support the cause that nobody should be fired in a job where their opinion IS their job unless they're not performing adequately, and like him or not, he at least got shit done.
