734) Cretaceous 02: Dealing with a Dino

Okay, I was wrong on Friday. The raptor's name is not Mira, but Arra. Guess Mirg's name threw me off. The dragon's name really is Mirg, though.

As for the gender confusion, Arra has one of those voices that could be confused for a prepubescent boy. It's not deep, but doesn't sound feminine, either.

For the size, I was trying to keep her somewhere around the actual size of Deinonychus. Fact is, Jurassic Park (both novel and movie) got the Velociraptor wrong. Velociraptors are probably smaller than Arra, but Deinonychus are supposed to be a little bigger than Velociraptors, which is why I changed her from Velociraptor to Deinonychus.

And I know they're supposed to have feathers, but damnit…dinosaurs don't look cool with feathers.
