First of all, Jennifer is referring to this comic. As you can see, Elizabeth was red back then. The lighter shade is a retcon I did later on so that I didn't have several characters the same shade of red and Jonas became darker.
Also, regarding Jennifer, I had toyed with the idea of making her a midget…dwarf…whatever earlier on when Erin's daughter showed up from the future (I think it was around 600) and she was supposed to be the same color as Jennifer and there was a joke about them looking the same or something like that and Jennifer remaining the same height. I took her out of that comic, obviously, but liked the idea of her having dwarfism, so I kept that.
