I didn't want you guys thinking Erin was just being mean, so I decided to do the last panel like that to show that she's sincere. 
Erin does have a soft side…it's just very hard to find.

And Beatrix's card was less mushy than this.
By the way, the only reason I chose this book specifically was that I was reading it at the time I wrote this comic. (It was pretty good.)
