Quadruped dragons are more primal than bipedal. A good comparison between the quads and the bipeds would be cats. House cats are domesticated and fairly even tempered (depending on the cat) and mostly harmless whereas lions are wild, live in a pride (though…not sure what a group of dragons are called), and are surly. Or if you're a Star Trek fan, bipeds are like Worf and quadrupeds are like the other Klingons.
