Making believable outdoor coloring is so hard! I need more contrast I think? Little more saturation? Anyway. I actually drew this sketch a few months ago and thought it would be a nice chapter introduction.

Here Xara is enjoying a number of wonders. First she is up high. Dragons like that! Second she is in the sun. It helps warm her up. And third she is by the water. Now, I know this looks more like an ocean versus a river, but either way it's quite invigorating for her. Tho' I think we could all enjoy such surroundings!

I'm probably going to ramble a little in the story before I go on the next major story ark. Xara is going to have a little fun with her new magic. Also, Carla has some unfinished business with a certain blond bully. Then I might send Xara out on her first quest! Now I know questing is more for knights, perhaps I should call it patrol. Xara is territorial like all dragons but she is also going to feel the need protect the people in her kingdom. We'll explore that with the first story I ever thought for her!

Anyway thats the plan. Lets see how it all plays out!
