I remain ambivalent about the unwieldy title of this book… Dragons in Civilized Lands. Originally, I was going to call it Jerrik Crevinn, after one of the main characters. But my wife, righty, pointed out that this minimized Tahni Vey, who was at least as important as a character. I couldn't manage to design a logo I liked for a book called "Jerrik and Tahni." A friend suggested I name the book after the world in which the story was set (the name of the world, which hasn't ever appeared in the comic, is Loham) or the region of the world where the story takes place… hence The Civilized Lands. My beta readers all laughed at a sword and sorcery book called "The Civilized Lands," one suggesting that it needed a lot more tea parties.

Well, we already had dragons in this chapter. Get ready for the tea parties.
