the "voltron vs thundercats" bit came from one of the DD forum discussions. :)

I wanted to keep it dream like that's why the borders of the panels look like that.

you can't see it very well, but on the 3rd panel Porter is using a "lampaso" it's a coconut husks that is used to polish the floor. it's an inside joke and has nothing to do with the story. When I was a kid that's what we used to polish the hardwood floors.
