Fred lived his entire life according to that seventies black-light poster maxim:

"Yea, though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, I shall fear no evil, for I am the meanest motherfucker in the valley."

He's learned one thing - well, other than he's no longer "he" - he's not the meanest motherfucker in the room. There's worse news in the last panel. You don't get to die. You just get to experience death. As a process. Intimately.
