An Interlude with Fred

When I started this comic, Fred was a completely dispensable cardboard character. I was supposed to be done with Fred by page threeish. But when I was finished with the page which showed what happened to Fred - the page bothered me so much I had to redo it, and that seemed to tilt the direction of the direction of the story.

I hate it when characters argue with me, insisting on better outcomes for themselves than to which cardboard is entitled. Sigh.

Anyway, It seems that now Fred is trying to become a significant character, and that means character reference sketches. This is that, but it seems to work as a comic page as well, and I think in combination with the next page, will serve as the transition that gets us back to where Fred is lying on that table again. Or still.

It's all a matter of time and frame of reference.

Meanwhile, this is my little side-light on the downside of dickgirlishness.

Afterward - someone has to clean up. And there's so VERY much to clean. And then five minutes later… there's another puddle of oooze.

But then I'm very much a fan of amusing and ironic fates. This is, literally, Fred's dream, come true.

You probably wouldn't want that to happen to you, either.
