In the back of your mind, it's difficult to think of one reality or the other as "more real" or maybe "reference" or "foundation" where, while if a bit colorless and bereft of dragons and magics, has a comfortable stability to it. One can go away and come back to find at most subtle changes.

This is not subtle. Fred is alive, calls herself Joi, and she's got boobs. Not fake. Not "could be an hormonal problem" Real. Genuine boobs on female bones.. An entire branch of probability has been replaced by another, with no evidence of the change, save their own memories.

Disconcerting. To say the least.
