Someone should try this rebound ploy in reality. Break up, then suggest to your ex that you shoudl be each other's rebound. I'd be amused if it works.

With the caveat that it can't just be one of those on-again, off-again rocky relationships. You really have to be doing it as a rebound. In fact, just use the exact dialogue from the comic. Tell me how it goes!
