Page description:
Charlie looks at Nathan, dying in Jimmy's arms, as above him, he hears the cries of battle between boyfriend Nick and girlfriend Penny, both corrupt over the evil that is the 'one sweater'. Charlie fatefully turns around, something catching his eye. Above, we see that Penny is winning the battle as she gives Nick a quick knee in the groin, and then slugs Nick so hard in the face (area) that it unties the sweater in the balance. Her hand, shaking, reaches for the sweater…

And as Charlie the Dog puts his hand on a switch, Penny holds the sweater, the one sweater…as joy begins to swell in her, allowing her to proclaim…

Commentary:
A few days early. This is good. Now hopefully this weekend I can kick some D4K ass and crank out a few more pages like I did a few weeks ago where I single handedly did 6 pages in one day or so. (all pencils mind you.) I really dig this page, as not only as the obvious parody of Lord of the Rings, but I am hopefully showing more than I am telling. Charlie is the toughest D4K character to draw when you get down to it, not because he himself is difficult to draw, but to convey a sincere amount of emotion, something that I'm not admittedly known for. (Hell, I wouldn't say drawing, period, is something I'd be admittedly known for either though.) This is sort of one of those moments where, like Vader in Jedi, he turns to the Emperor, in this case, where he can watch Nathan die in Jimmy's arms, or he can be proactive and help Nick and Penny, or in the metaphor's case, look at Luke and hear his son's cries for help.

Okay, maybe the metaphor is lame, but you geeks know what I'm talking about. Up next, can we say splash page? Oooo yah.
