Page description:
As the rain comes down hard upon our heroes, Nick turns, slowly, joining Ashley and Charlie in the distance, leaving Nathan overlooking Penny's grave… as his inner thoughts take hold.

Writer/Creator Commentary:
For those wondering why Nathan feels this way, and while it isn't fully his fault, he partially is to blame for Penny's demise, and it can all lead back to around this page.

I really like this page. There's something sorta different about it, maybe it's the rain, but I don't know. I wish I had more to really say about it currently, yet… I don't.

I still have our most recent episode of "Good, Bad & Geeky" entitled, "I'm Bill Pardy". Well, cos… I am.

And my father comes in to help out since Jimmy and Nathan are absent again this week.

And because I'm a whore of unimaginable belief:

Enjoy!

PS: And now a few words from the artist…
Thought I'd give you a little commentary on this one as I gave a good bit of thought to it. I was worred the rain might make it too busy and I honestly wasn't sure I liked the effect. I thought of different ways to work it, but none seemed right. When it was finished though, I felt it worked. It's harsh, but so it the subject matter. The turbulent clouds mimic Nate's inner feelings. Also, is that a tear on his cheek, or just rain?
Finally, and this is something that probably no one has noticed or cared about except me… But in two of these panels, Nate's glasses completely obscure his eyes. The only other character shown like that was the priest. (and in the Priests case, his glasses went so far as to reflect back.) Why is this important? Well, in my line of thinking, the eyes are windows to the soul, innermost emotions. Through this whole story, you've been able to 'read' everyone's emotions on their faces, saddness, loss, anger. The only one you couldn't 'read' was the priest, because he had no emotional attachment to the deceased. Here, in these two panels, Nate is struggling with feelings and keeping them inside, which leads to the next page. Therefore his face (and eyes) become unreadable. Just a thematic element I used while working on these. Maybe it works. Maybe it doesn't. Okay, I'll shut up now. :)
