Writer/Creator Commentary:
I do apologize for my somewhat lateness with the general last page of Issue 8. For those who don't know, I had a mini-party, where some alcohol was consumed, we watched Monty Python's The Meaning of Life, and had a grand ol' time. It was a lot of fun. But, I strolled in later than I usually would, and thus, updating late Thursday, thus early Friday morning (the update schedule is Fridays) just didn't happen. BUT… Thanks for all who sent their well wishes. I greatly appreciate it. I had an awesome birthday. I still have a party or two to wreak havoc at, but the day of my said birthday, I just relaxed, sat around and watched Dinner For Five which, if you've not seen the show, is great.

August 12th, 2004 was a very important day for me. It was a day that I began to take a step in a bold new direction for this comic. I've since abandoned the comic-strip-like layout and went for a comic-book layout, which in itself has been beneficial, I've also started to lean the story into something I was truly wanting to do, into a weird realm of sci-fi/fantasy/sarcastic comedy-like bravado.

It has been 3 year and 12 days since my journey began to tell Lord of the Sweaters and storytelling wise with this page (being it may not be the last page of the issue) ending it here.

While I know that is a horrible way to say I've done 6 issues in a 3 year span, but really, if you consider the few times I never returned to the comic just due to real life crap going on (girls & heartbreak, despite being nice and trying to put them and other friends in the comics, getting comments like 'why can't you draw me better' and then doing vacations that made me question why I was doing what I was doing) it is beyond the realm of surprise that I stand, nay, sit before you and type out these very words. And I've had amazing help along the way. Like Nathan Trimmer. Jimmy Dailey. Mandy Kerns. Matt Miller. All my friends on DrunkDuck... you've all helped me out, kept me going, and so while for the average webcomic person, this is nothing but for me, a huge step forward in the right direction.

I also need to acknowledge the last year to JT and Scott at the Night Gig Studios, allowing me to help out, and slowly become apart of the Night Gig family. I am a guy who easily becomes distracted and if I keep myself busy, I may seem stressed out at times, but I never get to the point where it allows me to quit doing the comic. Doing the Gigcast with bits and lord knows what else, really allows me to focus my attention span elsewhere even if it's for like 20 minutes a week, which is all the doctor needs, really.

Strip/Page 250 is coming up, but I'm not really all that excited about that as I am about finishing this (storyline). I have seen my readership actually grow the past year, I've almost never missed an update, (minus once or twice, but I had little to do with the reasons why I was late) and also because of this webcomic, I've been able to meet great people because of it. (Michael from Pinky TA, Zac from New Luciefer, Allan from Allan and Kevin from Detective Fork, I'm looking at you, guys)

Matt Miller, the artist still has one more page, a dedication if you will, at least, I think he does. And…he hasn't gotten his spoken dedication to me yet, but we'll find out by next Friday, eh? So technically, Issue 8 isn't officially over just yet. Don't worry, stay tuned.

Oh and speaking of which… After next week's normal Friday update(last update of August, things are changing. You'll notice the banner above has somewhat changed in a way… yes, we're uping the ante up a bit, or at least, until I can't handle the pressure anymore! :-)

Last but not least, I've checked out two new indie films coming out, or well, one of them is indie, and I think I'm seeing a Steve Carrel movie that has potential to be nominated for an oscar for his performance, but maybe I'm just out of it. You decide between Dan in Real Life or Ira & Abby.

Until next time…

Enjoy.
