It's specialized humor for the science nerd, however this serves a much broader audience due to kids getting infatuated with science (like myself) by Mythbusters and Bill Nye (if older).
 
I really like it but the humour is definitely science nerd stuff, but it's also educational.
 
It can be educational, assuming that if you don't get a gag you try and find out what it is about.
 
They won by a quark!
