Critics Acclaim
 
The backgrounds in 'Monster Soup' are as deftly rendered as the colorful cast of characters who inhabit them. In fact, the background art very often steals the show! 
 
Monster Soup does a good job of setting lovely scenes with establishing shots and then subduing the background details to let the characters and actors take the stage. 
 
As much attention is paid to things like tile patterns and wall paintings, there's also enough empty space that your eyes don't get tired going from one exquisite panel to the next.
