Let's see Salaster has been the loyal sidekick and to the rescue cavalry for the protagonist. The protagonist goes on these long fights and at the very end Salaster shows up to save him from dying.

Honestly, I really don't consider him a supporting character at all. He and Salem are really a duo, with him being a slight second (like Green Hornet and Kato), and like Kato, he has his own characteristics that shine brighter than the Main's! Especially his monstrous nature!
